BADD Support

For anyone reading this (ok Leanne probably just you LOL) I'm writing this to make everyone aware:
BADD (Bikers Against Drunk Driving) has adopted the CMC (Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers) as their "poster child". This is the great group of people I ride with. We have over 77 chapters across Canada and over 1600 members. One of our by-laws is a ZERO alcohol tolerance on all rides which is why BADD has adopted us. Unfortunate circumstances in which the CMC came about this happened on the August long weekend. 3 of our CMC brothers were riding at 11am and hit by a drunk driver. The link below takes you to the BADD site and what happened.

BADD is giving much needed help to all 3 brothers and all money raised will go to them. If you feel so inclined (and you have a chance to win one of 10 Harley Davidsons or 2 Toyota Tundras) go to the BADD main page:

http://www.baddcentral.com/

click on the spinning bike and buy some tickets-where it asks how you heard about this, click on CMC in the drop down list. This will give some much needed support to the victims and you can win a bike and we can ride together next year :)

If you can't buy ticket then please do me one thing:

Friends vs. Biker Friends

This was posted on the CMC forum by Lighten so thought I'd add it here too!!

FRIENDS VS. BIKER FRIENDS

FRIENDS: Never ask for food
BIKER FRIENDS: Are the reason you have no food.

FRIENDS: Will say "hello"
BIKER FRIENDS: Will give you a big hug and a kiss.

FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
BIKER FRIENDS: Call your parents mom and dad.

FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry.
BIKER FRIENDS: Cry with you.

FRIENDS: Will eat at your dinner table and leave
BIKER FRIENDS: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing and just being together

FRIENDS
: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
BIKER FRIENDS: Keep your stuff so long they forget it's yours.

FRIENDS: know a few things about you.
BIKER FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.

FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing.
BIKER FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds' ass that left you.

FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
BIKER FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!"

FRIENDS: Are for a while.
BIKER FRIENDS: Are for life.

Tax time

Ok , this has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with my motorcycle but it just makes me laugh (a little too much according to Tim!!!) For more of this great Canadian go to rickmercer.com
(Check out the skinny dipping with Bob Rae!!!)

Odometer 420km!!!!!!

Alrighty, it WAS sunny this morning so we went for a ride. We encountered wind, dropping temperatures, rain, hail and just to top it off-R.I.D.E. (They have the best spot at the four corners in Camden. So I put another 120km on her today-I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT HEATED GRIPS!!!!
Headed out about 10am and went to Timmy's. Met a couple of people there including my friend and her hubby who were going to look at a bike of their own. From there went to Lower Brewer's Mills where we encountered the hail.

Flew back down to K-town where it seemed even colder so we headed for home. 5 minutes from home we met up with the R.I.D.E and when they asked about any alcohol the only response of course was "not a chance" They just laughed and waved us through. A few of my main rules for myself:
NO ACLOHOL when riding (no matter HOW good that Guiness looks :( ) and
ATGATT (ALL THE GEAR ALL THE TIME-tough one in the dead of summer but thems the breaks!!!)
RIDE SAFE!!!!
